...about her
Dear fellow teenagers;
I’d just like to give
you a general picture of who I am. I am a typical teenager who if it
weren’t for my mother, would be lost in this world doing who knows what.
And if it weren’t for my father, I’d be in South America dreaming to go
back to live in the States. I imagine you’ve got tons of questions.
I was born in Valencia,
Carabobo (Venezuela, South America) but moved to Caracas, Venezuela when
I was about 2 years old. Then I started moving back and forth from
Venezuela to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania mostly. I moved back to Caracas
permanently, in 2001 or at least I thought I had. However, life had more
changes in store for me. After a while I moved to Palm Bay, Florida and
now I’m in Bangkok, Thailand as my dad got the opportunity to be the
project manager and advisor of the New International Airport of
Bangkok. I have been in Thailand for the past five years and hope to
remain here for many years to come.
I am currently studying
at the American School of Bangkok, I have been there since in came to
Bangkok, I am now in my junior year and looking forward to graduating
from the school that taught me loads of things. I have been working on
the ASB Times (a monthly newspaper) since year 2002 (I was in grade 8 at
the time) I have risen in rank working all of those years and I am
currently the assistant editor of the ASB Times.
I plan to go to college
her in Bangkok if I don't get a scholarship to go abroad, but for the
mean time the plan is to go to college here for my bachelors and masters
degree in computer science engineering and programming and then go
abroad for my PhD.
People assume I want to
make a living out of writing, but the truth is that writing is just a
hobby for me, my real dream lies far ahead in the world of technology
were I shall follow my father's career path into what I love most. As I
inform people that 'my thing' is actually engineering they never fail to
ask: "Then, why did you write the book Rough Times Of A Teen For
Teens?" and the answer to the keys lies in my urge to let teens know
that they aren't alone that there is worst stuff out there and that they
should be aware and if they are then how to overcome these tricky
obstacles of life.
Sincerely;
Sasha Smaili
